Prof. Braham Prakash from Luleå University of Technology Made Speech in MECE
On September 25th, Professor Braham Prakash from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden) made a lecture entitled “An overview of tribology research at Luleå University of Technology” in MECE building. He was invited by Prof. Li Jianyong. This lecture was attended by teachers and students from MECE. It was presided by Mr. Fan Wengang.
Braham Prakash firstly introduced the Division of Machine Elements in Luleå University of Technology, as well as the tribology laboratory known as TRIBOLAB. An overview of tribology researches on different topics such as high temperature tribology, tribology of various machine components (including gears, engine bearings, and wheel/rail interface) has also been presented. This lecture attracted many teachers and graduate students from the fields of machinery, vehicles and other majors. At the end of the report, many participants raised questions. They had a heated discussion together.
Prof. Prakash is a senior expert in tribology. He has published over 200 academic papers on journals, including Tribology International, Wear, and many others. Professor Prakash Braham has received his Master’s Degree and PhD from the world-renowned Indian Institute of Technology in 1976 and 1993 respectively. He is currently a professor at Swedish University of Technology, visiting scholar at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo University of Science and many other universities. Besides, he served as guest editor of several international journals.
