University of Wollongong Delegation Visit MECE
The executive director (Global) of Transnational Education & Alliances, Dr. Brett Lovegrove and Senior Coordinator Ms.Jessica Sun visit School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering on November 13th, for a deeper mutual understanding and exploring possible future cooperation. Vice dean of School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering, Dr. Hongmei Shi and Dr. Sheng Guo, and School International Program office Coordinator Ms.Juanjuan Sun and stuff Ms. Yanxia Jiang attended the meeting.
First, Dr. Lovegrove gave an introduction of city of Wollongong, and University of Wollongong (UOW). He also shared recent exciting accomplishments of UOW. He was very positive on the future cooperation. Dr. Shi said, we also have a lot of research opportunity and Mechatronics Engineering courses delivered in English, so we are welcome UOW students to visit us and exchange to BJTU.
Next, Ms.Sun gave an introduction on the background of the program and the results of 2017 student recruitment campaign. From the analysis, the students enrolled tend to have a higher average score one after another year.
Then, Dr. Lovegrove and Dr. Shi exchanged the gift.
After the meeting, Dr. Lovegrove and Ms.Sun visited the School Mechanical Museum and maker-space Muji Cafe, meeting the three founders of the Cafe, who from the cooperate in running program. Dr. Lovegrove said visiting the Museum is a “Fantastic journey though time” , and the coffee he had here is the “best coffee he ever had in China”.
