Prof. Sebastian Stichel from KTH gave an academic lecture
Prof Sebastian Stichel, professor from KTH University, paid a academic communication visit at the 8th floor’s conference room in the afternoon of November, 16, 2017. He was welcomed and awarded as a distinguished professor by Prof. Sun Shouguang, Vice President of BJTU.
Prof. Sebastian Stichel gave an academic lecture entitled“Active suspension in Railway Vehicles”in our school. Prof. Ren Zunsong was presented at the lecture and hosted it; Prof. Zhang Lele, and other teaching faculties attended this lecture as well as graduate students from relevant majors. In the one and half a hour later, Prof. Sebastian Stichel mainly talks about his team's experience in the stability control of railway trains, which includes the topics as?
· Tilt systems
· Active lateral and verticalsecondary suspension
· Active wheelset steering
In the course of the report, professor Sebastian Stichel listed a number of examples on related issues, which are sufficient and thought-provoking.

In the course of the report, teachers and students have actively raised relevant academic questions, and discussed with Prof. Sebastian Stichel in the aspects of vehicle vibration control methods and pendulous trains.
Prof Sebastian Stichel is a professor from KTH. In 1991, he received a bachelor's degree in vehicle engineering from Berlin university of technology. He received a doctorate in vehicle engineering from Berlin university of technology in 1996. He worked at the royal Swedish institute of technology from 1996 to 2000. From 2000 to 2013, he worked in bombardier company, and served as chief designer and department manager of the company. Since 2013, he has been a professor and director of the aviation and vehicle engineering department of the royal Swedish institute of technology. Professor Stichel has rich experience in vehicle structure design, structural strength calculation and active suspension design. He has officiated so many technological projects and research, total funding of which was up to 30 million yuan. More than 20 doctoral and master students have received his guide to get their degrees.
